It's Not Just The Climb

Mark is not only climbing Kilimanjaro for the Kids Trust but has also taken part in the 25 mile Orwell Walk and the Ipswich Half Marathon.

Orwell Walk

With the walk to the event and the 25 mile circuit, Mark walked around 28 miles in total and at the finish the poor fellow could hardly stand! He managed the route in just over 7 hours and could then be found in the pub having a well deserved drink or 3.

Ipswich Half Marathon

Mark has completed the Ipswich Half Marathon with a time of 2:40:41, full result can be found at the Ipswich Jaffa website. It's not as quick as he had hoped but it's not bad for someone who was overweight and couldn't even run 1 mile 5 months ago. The skies stayed clear for the runners and the temperature was about right. The public turnout was fantastic with people along the route cheering on all the runners. Don't forget all money raised is for the Town 102 Kids Trust so donate online if you can or add to our collection bucket in our main reception area.

Mark is planning to complete in next years event along with other staff and drivers so watch this space.
