New wheelchair accessible vehicles

Hawk Express Cabs have invested over £65,000 in three new vehicles to transport wheelchair bound customers. Although Hawk Express Cabs is majority private-hire, we have invested in these hackney carriage vehicles enabling the company to offer a reliable service to our customers who require to be transported whilst in their wheelchair. Fare Freeze

At a time when the taxis in Ipswich have increase their fares, Hawk express Cabs have decided to freeze their local fare structure at the mileage rate we charged in 2005 and though out 2006. We are also the only company in Ipswich not to operate with meters. This allows us to only charge our customers for the distance they travel, unlike metered taxis who charge for distance and time.

All drivers who work for Hawk Express Cabs, hold a current private Hire Licence with the Ipswich Borough Council. To obtain this licence they must pass an enhansed CRB check done by the council. During the last six months, we have installed a text-back service. If you book your cab journey via your mobile phone, we will text you two minutes before the cab arrives with the detail of the vehicle (type, colour and registration), allowing you to identify your cab and not having to go up to various cars asking if they are there to pick you up. All drivers are instructed that if they take a lone customer home late at night, they are to wait until the customer is safe indoors before driving of.
